>What has happened to the industry is that first of all there is a lot of money being made now, not like the old days.>
Wow, that'll be news to many in the industry who are hanging on by a thread with the economy in the tank and the againg baby boomers their target demographic.
Do you have any numbers or is this just a seat of the pants made-up assumption on your part?
>I don't know if you are aware that the magazines charge the manufacturers a significant fee to reprint the reviews or to post them on their websites. This precludes really negative reviews because they are then unsellable!>
Another conspiracy theory - I hadn't heard this one before. What do you consider a "significant fee"?
Every review I've ever read is critical of some or many aspects of the DUT's performance. Does it have to be ALL negative to satisfy naysayers like you?
>The products today are mostly excellent and it takes a serious effort to listen and compare.>
If they are mostly excellent, how do expect someone to write a negative review about them? You can't have it both ways.
>The reviwing of products that do not exist however is very questionable and borders on colusion don't you think?>
I agree with you here that this is a terrible practice but I don't see any connection to your other comments.
And IMO, Valin, is not very ethical or credible, so I'd take his stuff with a grain of salt anyway.
