TAS Golden Ear Awards

After reading the new TAS Issue 182 I was very upset by the awarding of a Golden Ear award to a prototype. Page 54 JV's awards.
As someone who has been part of this industry for over 35 years I don't recall reviews of prototypes let alone awarding the prototype and award.
I have felt that the process of reviews has been getting harder and harder to understand and it is strange to me that we never see a bad one anymore, however, if the magazines are now going to find prototypes to take into their homes I find that crosses the line for me.
When a reviewer is a consultant to a manufacturer or a possible manufacturer I think this is a dangerous precedent. The old expression that if it smells like fish.... may apply.
