I don't think it's puzzling. The only truthful thing he could say is "Yes, I am a thief with no morals, and routinely steal other peoples' work for my website." But it's pretty rare for a thief with no morals to step forward and tell the truth in a public forum.

For example, I'm not holding my breath waiting for an apology from Valin or his superiors at TAS.
