and I apologize for any perceived edginess.
My dialup is a personal choice, not economic. Having access to a T1 line at work and coming home to a dialup can be a bit of an adjustment. It wears thin at times, but I realize that probably 50% of my immediate social circle doen't even own a computer. It's a matter of striking that economic balance between hobbys and life realities such as retirement and elderly parents.
I'm told I'm like 150 ft. over the DSL limit by the local telco (SBC.) The only major buildout in my area has been F/O by Comcast. I've never paid a cable TV bill, and I really don't care for Comcast as a company, nor their pricing, nor their steady stream of flyers in my mailbox that are now truly 50-50 bilingual.
I enjoy and admire your posts, and a cold e-beer is now in your inbox.
