however, and this is probably irritating to you by now, i am still fixated on your original comment and still don't understand it -

mono leaves you "craving for air, dimensionality of instruments, extension of frequencies". i understand from your above response how mono would leave you craving soundstage/instrument positioning as you say, but not the relationship to frequency extension,etc.


additionally, i am looking to clarify this statement -

'If we all listen to mono, there would be no need for the drive in developing more exacting drivers, more efficient speakers and amplifiers, the least compressed software and front-end equipment'

not sure again how listening in mono would obviate the need for better hardware and software.
