not clear to me. so how is there any relationship between " air, dimensionality of instruments, extension of frequencies" in the setting of mono vs 2 channel? i am not understanding what you mean by these terms if 2 channel provides better quality in these aspects than mono.

those that are knowledgeable about this will hopefully kick in, but my understanding additionally is that 'stereo' was initally thought of as a minimum 3 channel endeavor. too many compromises with 2 channel (comb-filtering, unstable soundstage and center image with listener head movement,for ex)
