That doesn't seem to be what happens. AFTER the review, if the reviewer liked it (and supposedly better than what he currently uses as a reference) he buys it for the accomodation price. Still looks like a meaningful endorsement to me. And it certainly doesn't mean that the accomodation pricing buys an endorsement!
