Tellig's Folly

I have kept my cybermouth shut for several months regarding Sam Tellig's often silly Eurobias, simply because it has been detailed here ad nauseum. However, one short sentence in the November issue of Stereophile requires comment. "Focal-JMlab has raised the bar at $7500/pair". Problem is, Tellig doesn't have a clue of what defines the 'bar'. He samples, frequently over and over again, offerings from perhaps 5% (???) of the high end manufacturers out there. Personally, I find such a statement from ANY single individual somewhat ludicrous. Coming from Tellig, it's truly offensive. And wonder of wonders, he's so full of himself that he doesn't even realize it.

Flame away if you like, but PLEASE spare me the "it only costs $1/issue" argument. Responsible journalism should be the norm, whether the content is essentially free or not.
