Wanna blow your mind...

Find an old Philips unit or the fairly recent but now discontinued Marantz unit (European market, tuned/designed by none other than Ken Ishiwata) that uses the old 4x oversampling chip. Yes implementation is also key as a unit, like music reproduction, is a SYSTEM and no part 'lives' alone.

FYI: did a review of portable CD players and the old Sony D-25 with all-metal casing and the 4x chip won the battle.

As for zero oversampling, have reviewed both their DAC 5 ($$,$$$) and the 47 Labs units and my reviews online pretty much cover it. Very interesting and perhaps newer may not ALWAYS be better. Hmm... maybe that is why i am enjoying a record...

Enjoy(ing) the Music (old ZZ Top on vinyl La Grange right now),

"Rumor sprendin' a'round in that Texas town
'bout that shack outside La Grange
and you know what I'm talkin' about.
A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw.
A haw, haw, haw.

Just let me know if you wanna go
to that home out on the range.
They gotta lotta nice girls.

Have mercy.

A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw.
A haw, haw, haw.

Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time
and the ten to get yourself in.
A hmm, hmm.
And I hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
but now I might be mistaken.
hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.

Have mercy."
