I really like having my Paramour transformer primary returned to the cathode of the 2A3. I did the same trick on the transformer for my headphone amp and I liked it better going to the cathode there too.Here is the idea:
...Return the 2A3 grid leak resistor to the cathode of the driver. You know the resistor from the grid to ground. Move the ground connection to the cathode of the 12AT7 driver tube.
.....Yes you'll get 2V more bias on the cathode. This shouldn't hurt anything.
.....Yes this can be viewed as feedback, but it isn't yet. The grid leak resistor divided by the bias resistor is less than the gain of the driver tube. This means there isn't any loop gain, but the cathode voltage will be stiffer.
...I can't do this on mine yet because the cathode follower in my set up messes it up.
...I predict it should work really good with the C4S mod.
