All SIno made 2A3 dual plates are like that, with a ring of smoke/tar like substance on the inner side of the glass enelope where the upper mica insulator resides. I've been informed by a tube maker that this is due to impurities and improper handling of the mica insulators being used in Shuguang/Sino tubes and when they are heated during normal operation, impurities "evaporated".Mine Sino bi-plate2A3 currently has clocked 2800hrs and the "smoke ring" is very bad looking. Nonetheless my tubes still tested like new (98%) and they sound really good.
