My first mod to my Paramours was the simplest I could think of:I replced the 270 Ohm PSU filter resistor with a 10 Hy, 270 Ohm
filter choke (Triad C-7X, same as the plate-loading choke).
I mounted it opposite the plate-loading choke, under the chassis.
PSU Designer II (from Duncan's amp site) indicates B+ ripple should
have been reduced to ~30 mV from ~810 mV.I noticed a BIG drop in hum and an increase in clarity.
But comparisons to memories are suspect. So if anyone near Boston
has some stock Paramours (mrh?) and would like to A/B them,
please let me know.
