After producing glorious sound for six years, my left channel Paraglow II is no longer functioning.
A few days after I replaced the power cord, when I turned it on, the 2A3 flared, a hoorible sound emanated from my speaker, and the sound became scratchy and low. I changed tubes but the sound stayed with the amp.
The voltages are
1. 376
2. 376
3. 458
10. 190
A1. 190
A2. 440
A3. 148
A4. 192
B1. 148
B2. 0
B3. 1.99
B6. 151
After checking the archives it seems that my voltages, with the exception of B6 which is only 159v, seem to be within acceptable limits, although 10, A1, A4 and B1 are up quite a bit from earlier checks. The leds on the C4S light but the adjustment on the W104 4y [is this a variable resistor?] doesn't seem to change the voltage at all. I read Paul's comment that B6 needs to be higher than B1 by 50 volts to work properly.
Does this suggest that the LT1431IZ has bitten the dust or?
Any help would be reeeally appreciated as I have only a few momo records and I can only listen to 50's rock for so long.
thanks
Bryon
