basic analysis of the S.E.X. amp

24.62.103.112

Hello community!

I finished a S.E.X. amp build somewhat recently and I am more than satisfied. This semester at school I'm taking an analog design class and I would really like to analyze the S.E.X. amp's topology as sort of a side-project (don't worry, this isn't for a school project so I'm not looking for an easy "A"). I am taking the class and built the kit because I eventually want to design my own amps. I was wondering, since I am new to this and to vacuum tubes (but am getting more familiar thanks to my classes), if any veterans of amp design could explain to me how the amplifier works, electrically, and why. I can simulate it and get values for voltages and current (because I bought the kit and it came with the schematic), but that's really just the "what" and I'm looking for the "why" and "how." If anyone could spare some time to impart some knowledge, I would be extremely grateful.

thanks,
-Anthony
