So, I have had Edcor wind some custom transformers for me. They are 8k to 250/32 ohm without a gap. Even though I asked for them to measure the primary L, they forgot. They then got back to me with an estimate of 15 H, which I thought might be a little low for an ungapped transformer. I went ahead and got 10 because I wanted 1 pair for the Quickie, and 1 pair for a 31 amp I want to build, and it would have cost me 80 for 4, or 100 for 10.
They are now a product from Edcor, EM0735, for under $10.50 a piece.
I would be happy to donate a pair to chez bottlehead for optimization, if you think it is worth it. They are, oddly enough due Friday, which is the same day as my quickie.
So, is there anything I might need to do with the parafeed cap for use with this transformer? Any other info I might need to get from Edcor? I believe they are based on the 2.5w core.
Thanks,
Chris
