I agree completely, I have owned a pair of the Horns for a few years now and I still love them. They just do music right, the tone, the coherence or whatever is just magic. The BK-16 is nice for the price but sound a bit thin and less refined to me. I have a pair of the Bottlehead Straight 8"s, which are big fun and any number of DIY speaks. For what your looking for, try the Horns.
The nice thing about the Horns is if you don’t like them you can send them back.

Edit; Now that I have actually read the entire thread. We met at Frank’s meet. I am the tall guy with the SR-45 amp. I am near Valley Forge Pa. If you want to here the Horns…John

But it’s the sense of satisfaction I get, by getting it to do anything at all…
