Thanks Alan! I think that when folks start playing with these they are going to find that really fun part of DIY coming back to them, where you just try stuff without the angst of it being audiophile approved.
PB immediately whipped one into a headphone amp for high impedance headphones by adding a couple of stock S.E.X. kit transformers and a headphone jack. I can imagine stuffing the parts into a PVC tube that's just the right size to fit a water bottle holder and carrying it in a fanny pack with an iPod. I think a solar powered version would be very cool too, and PJ has been dreaming about a complementary battery powered phono stage.
Of course with batteries it's super quiet, and there is definitely some of the high resolution flavor present that I have heard from exotic DHT preamps.
