The burnt resistor indicates way too much current through the power supply.
One possibility is that the C4S feeding the shunt regulator was shorted by reverse voltage; the Zeners would then act as forward biased diodes and would happily suck all the current the power supply can give.
The driver board is probably toast, though like scraping burnt toast there may be a few salvageable components - it's just more trouble to find them than to replace them. The Zeners are probably OK.
