It is funny, my ST-70 and GainClone both passed noise from my mute relay (Creek OBH-10) My Paramours do not. And yet, transients on my Paramours are superb! Much better than the ST-70 and on a peer with the GC.
Check for any DC that the SS amp might be trying (often successfully) to amplify.
Classic DC (Direct Coupled) solid state amps could amplify DC.
