First, yes the 4.0uF cap is good and I don't know of a problem it can cause.And more explanation goes:
The capacitor in series with the signal rolls off the low frequencies. In the case of the stock 0.4uF it is 3 db down at 8.2 Hz into a FP III and at 3.4 Hz into a FP 2.
The high frequency roll off that I am familiar with happens when the cables are so long (and high capacitance) that the parallel capacitance shunts high frequencies in conjunction with the input impedance of the next stage (line stage or power amp).
But I choose to use a larger output cap on my Seduction and Foreplay 2.
So we are in agreement.
