Ron,

The base makes an excellent platform for supporting the chassis while completing the component installation and soldering. You might consider holding off finishing the bases until after the chassis is complete and playing music, else risk marring or damaging the finish you just worked so hard to achieve.

You might also consider reinforcing the corners; in my experience, glue alone may not be enough for long term. And for safety, consider coming up with some way to attach the top plate, and also add a (vented) bottom plate to keep unwary hands out of those potentially lethal circuits.

In my pics linked below, you can see a couple of ways I have chosen to reinforce the corners, attach the top plate, and add the bottom plate. There are obviously many others.
