I am building a finished "active" system. It will be composed of a pair of eight woofer arrays with ribbon tweeters and nine pairs of Paramount monoblocks with each monoblock running an individual driver and modified specifically for the requirements of that driver in terms of filtering and such. So it's a big, complex and expensive system. Probably looking at about $13-14K for the amps and probably something similar for the speakers. I have pretty high confidence that it will be able to run with the big dogs - it'd better for that kind of money! A 96dB array with 64 watts on it could potentially sound pretty clean up to about 114dB.
