I have owned Altec in the past, and have coresponded recently with someone who owns the new 604. Two thumbs up. But it does need a big box. the good news is, with two refrigerators in your living room, it's OK if you are sitting close to them, as these were meant for nearfield monitoring. As far as the price, that's about a third of ALNICO Lowthers in horns. I am listening to 98 db speakers now, even the SEX amp will get loud with those.
