Paramour 6.3v filament supply not center-tapped?

It's certainly not my place to question the design(er) of this sweet and sultry amplifier, but I am very curious to know why the 12AT7 AC filament supply in the original Paramour is floating. Would it be needlessly hasty if, in an attempt to reduce heater noise, I were to derive a 0v tap using a couple of resistors?
