Got the parts, thanks for the quick turn around Eileen. Replaced the 220 MF resistors with carbon comps, replaced the substitute 6922 with the new EH 6922, replaced the 2N2907 transistor on the C4S board and re-installed the C4S board. Real break-in can now begin...
Everything appears to be working fine. Sat down an listened to Steely Dan's Aja on 180 gm vinyl and WOW, sounds good, much more gain, more bass with the C4S. Then listened to Donald Fagen's Morph the Cat on 180...Very nice as well.
This is a compromise setup as I am rebuilding my Thorens 126 / Rega RB300 which has a Grado Sonata with a 4.8 mv output, these tests were done on a Thorens 125 / Rega RB300 and a Denon High Output Moving Coil (DL-160) which was still usable despite the 1.6 mv output. Need to give it some break-in time.
I'm not sure I like the C4S; it seems to remove some of the presence that was there when the Seduction used the resistors. The C4S adds gain, adds bass but something appears to be missing. Guess I just need to listen for 100 hours or so and then remove the C4S and see if I still feel that way.
Thanks to Eileen and Grainger Morrison (There Is Only One...), appreciate your help.
