Yes, the correction circuit is called the "equalization network".
Most audio devices have what is called the "minimum phase" property. Going back to the calculus mentioned, that means the phase response and amplitude response are Hilbert transforms of each other. Among other things, that means if you equalize to get a flat amplitude response, the phase response will also be flat.
(The main exceptions to this rule are some loudspeakers and some kinds of digital filters.)
