161.4.82.1
It is called an Oscilloscope....
Just got it, it seems to be in perfect working condition as promised by seller.
But I am a novice to this and need some help to understand the specs.

I am just puzzled by the max voltage specs.
1. At the probe input is says max 250Vp.
2. The spec sheet says 500Vp-p or 250V (DC + AC peak)
Does this mean that the maximum peak voltage under any circumstance is +250Vpeak above ground, or 250 V below ground. Or is the 500V valid for AC mode and 250 for DC mode on the Y channels?
Does it mean that I can not measure the plate signal on my 300B(Rest at 537V and svings between 720V and 316V)? or does it mean the DC mode is not OK ,but OK to do AC measurement since the peak to peak is only 404V?

I do have 600V probes with at switch for 10X attenuation, does that mean the I can use that setting av avoid the 250Vpeak limitation?

The seller said i should not use ground for the scope socket wall connection, ground currents may fry the scope!! But I read in many manuals that the scope should be grouded for personal safety, and accurate performence. He also suggestes use of an isolation transformer with the scope...
What is correct?
Grateful for any advice..
Best regards

sorry no manual available for the scope...
