Well, you are trudging the long road to happy destiny. For you, there is some luck in the simplicity of the Paramour design: there just aren't that many parts that you can replace. I bet you'll get down to it quite soon! If you do want to test parts of the circuit individually, start by hooking the heaters up first (6.3VAC and 2.5VAC) and testing them. It's totally ok to do that, but not generally a good idea to leave the high voltage secondary connected with no filaments connected. That can cause excessive DC voltage...and make caps blow up ;)
