OT: Induction heating of work tables?

Hello all,
Preface: If this post is at all not appropriate I am happy to delete it or have it deleted.

That being said, I think this may prove to be an interesting challenge. In my workshop, I have a number of cast iron work surfaces, table saw, bandsaw, jointer, etc. Being in New England, with its extremely changeable weather, these tables are all prone to rusting from condensation. For example, it's 30F one night, and the next day it's 50F and raining (high humidity). Since my shop is not particularly well sealed, and has no central heat, it's difficult to keep that warm moist air from condensing on all the cast iron. I've tried a number of different products, including spray waxes, paste waxes, oils, and even shellac. None perform particularly well. I've used clamp lights placed underneath the tables, with 100W bulbs to put some heat into them to raise the temps above the dew point. This seems to work OK, but then the lights are always on.

One day, I had the crazy idea of trying to heat the tables inductively, because I though that would be a pretty neat solution. The issue with this is that (I think) I need to make some sort of high frequency, fairly high amperage power source. I tried using my TIG welder, but it can only put out 250Hz, and it knows when the cables are shorted, as in when they are connected to a coil of wire, and it shuts down the output.

So, is there a reasonably uncomplicated way to make high frequency AC. I don't really know how high the frequency needs to be. Maybe 5kHz? Obviously it doesn't need to make anything burning hot, just be able to raise the temperature by 20 or 30 degrees. I'd love to be able to DIY something like this. Or, maybe it makes more sense if I just crack open some induction cooktops:^). Maybe I can find some cheap ones. If all else fails there's always heating blankets.

I gotta find a way to keep these tables clean while I work on what I hope will be the mother of all Bottlehead integrated amps, hopefully comprising almost the entire Bottlehead line into one massive unit. That should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for reading my lunacy.

Alec
