Most of you know that I am planning a sort of "no prisoners" attempt at a system for VSAC 2008. To go with our system, which will be a reel to reel front end (natch), Bottlehead preamp and crossover, and an attempt at an ultimate sort of straight 8 speaker, with dedicated Paramount amps (yup, 18 of 'em) driving the individual drivers in the speakers, I would like to properly attire our very large demo room (about 1200 sq. ft.).
So my OT question is, does anyone in the Portland/Vancouver area have a connection to someone in the local furniture retail industry who might be interested in showing their lounge chair style furnishings and perhaps some reel tape/LP sized storage units in our room? I know this is a long shot, but hey, asking here is free!
Something tres moderne like Eames lounge chairs and ottomans or maybe even Rietveld red and blue chairs would fit in very well with the cylindrical speakers and towers of amps I have in mind. Home theater recliners or chaise lounges would be cool too. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Eames lounge chairs even though they are probably not ideal for audio because they have a large headrest - I spent a fair amount of time in one owned by the therapist who got me through my divorce from my first wife. Plus, they were introduced the year I was born. Yup they've been around since the dinosaur.
Bear with my fantasy guys, it's my birthday today and I'm having fun...Eileen is making martinis, steak, asparagus, Caesar salad - life is good.
