Answering your questions regarding amplifiers really depends somewhat on your speakers.
As for the front end, a Foreplay and a Seduction is a great choice. The nice aspect of the Foreplay is the easy upgrading. Not only the Extended kit, but the fact that you can outfit it with outrageous coupling caps, goldpoint attneuators, even remote controlled volume is possible.
