Points of Reference - Prima Luna, AES & Bottlehead ?

Hi all, I have not purchased a kit yet, but would appreciate it if folks could share their views of how the Bottlehead products compare with some other relativley low cost and widely available tube gear.

The Audio Electronic Supply kits also provide preamps and power amps, and Prima Luna products are available in my area as well. In your view, are the Bottlehead models comparable, not as good, or in a better league ? I know this is all subjective but any impressions would be extremely helpful to those of us who have not already bought (or had a chance to listen to) all three.

While I am interested in learning more about tube amps, and building them, the sound comes first and I would rather get a better sounding amp even if that means missing the building experience. On the other hand, if for around the same price I can get a better product by putting in some labor and learning, that would be great.
