As I said, I am electronically challenged. I'm only going by what Mikey, who's forgotten more about electronics than I'll ever know, has done with his 6SN7 FP III.
So I've got a .22 ohm 5W resistor with a 1.2 ohm 3W strapped across its back. I've got 20.97v on H1 and 26.77 on H2, so it is givng me a heater voltage of 5.8. That's a little low, but within 10% of 6.3. Others with more knowledge than I would know if the lower voltage is problematic, and I welcome comments.
I don't think it matters which terminal gets red or black, but I'd keep it consistent across all three tubes. On mine, black goes to 8 on all three tubes and red goes to 7.
