To build a "stock" 6SN7 FPIII, the only extra part you need (besides octal sockets and tubes) is to use a different ceramic power resistor on the heater wiring supply. I believe the value is .22 ohm (not sure what the wattage is...same as the kit-supplied one, and I think it's 5W). Please do a search for Mikey's 6SN7 Foreplay III and you'll see pics, and confirm the correct resistor value.
If you go to duncanamps.com and do a search for 12AU7 and 6SN7 tubes, you can print out the tube pinout configurations and compare them. The octal tubes have the two heater pins, and the triode sections (in a different order than the miniatures); all that's "missing" is the ground (pin 9 on a miniature) pin. You attach ground connections to the socket on an octal tube.
For the extended FPIII, all you need to do is piggyback the kit-supplied heater resistor on top of the existing one.
