I don't know the sensitivities, but I suspect neither speaker is sufficiently sensitive for flea-power SET amp. The Paramour is 3.5 watts per channel, probably a tenth of your Fisher's power - and you would "like a little more volume".
I believe the Advent is a little more sensitive than the AR, but I doubt it's 10dB which would be a factor of 10 in power.
Yes, the Paramour is two monoblocks. That's why it costs nearly twice the price of the (stereo) SEX amp.
I would guess if you want to get your feet wet in DIY that a Seduction phono stage would be the best starting point, since you listen to vinyl. It can drive an auxiliary input on the Fisher, and you can compare the sound this way, and see for yourself whether DIY provides the sonic and other rewards you are looking for.
If anyone can turn up impedance and sensitivity numbers for these speakers, the residents of this forum will be better able to advise. Incidentally, double Advents would be about twice as efficient as a single - I don't know if that's enough for SETs, but I just mention the idea ...
