Have you given any consideration to including a line stage section (or at least multiple inputs with a unity gain buffer & volume control) to create a "full function" preamp?
I've always preferred to reduce the number of boxes and associated interconnects in my system.
I was recently reminded of how sneaky good even a basic FPII is compared to current "name brand" valved audio gear, when out of curiosity I evaluated a demo unit from a local dealer (offered at an attractive $500). A cute little anodized aluminum black box with appealing minimalistic aesthetic and reasonable ergonomic features, but the sound was thin - it lacked dynamics, texture and weight compared to my barely tweaked 6 yr old FPII.
The ParamourII with 12AT7 is not exactly hard to drive, and whatever its flaws might be in terms of upper midrange forwardness (unless treated with the EnABL process), the combination with Fostex FE126E in a small room /near field can spank it pretty briskly.
Trickle-down from its big brothers, and A-N monogram notwithstanding, this little black box didn't do it for me at all.
