anybody tried the JJ ECC99 in place of 12AU7?

I understood the JJ to have same pinout and similar gain factor (mu).
Found a post that stated:
"ECC99 draws much more heater current than 12AU7/ECC82
(0.8A vs. 0.3A at 6.3V). Plate resistance of ECC99 is
also about 3 times lower."
What I was interested in was applications to FP3.
Comments? Suggestions?!
