I have breadboarded a few and used them with the S.E.X. amp as well as my ss amp. I prefer the "soundstage" or more natural presentation that I get with crossfeed and am currently using a cable between the source and amp with the Ohman filter built in, this filter is very easy to build and try.

All of the filters that I have tried colored the sound somewhat, but the lack of listening fatigue and more "natural" imaging make up for this in my case. The Ohman filter has more crossfeed than most and I think that it makes well recorded music (especially classical and jazz) much more enjoyable over headphones, but it doesn't work as well with all music.
