hum and noise eliminating coupler

I posted a message a while ago about hum and buzz through my system, foreplay 11, diy power amp, pi2 towers, when I introduced the above gadget the noise stopped and I thought great, now I am starting to realise with the reduction of hum/buzz there has also been a reduction in sound quality, seeing as the noise went with this thing there must be something going on between my pre and power amps, any suggestions as to how to rectify this would be greatly appreciated.
