I'm currently using a Yamaha CDC645 CD player found on E-Bay new in the box for $45.00 never been used. Still had the original batteries in the packing wrap. I find that this unit has a very nice sound. This is played through a stock FPIII. The FPIII feeds one of two amps (depending on my mood) either the slightly modded Dynaco or the LM3875 Chip amp that I built. These units power the heavily modded advents that I have. Well I guess the only thing advent is the name on the speaker. I've auditioned many of CD players (Rotel, Classe', and a few others), but have not found anything that makes my ears any more happy than what I have currently (possibly I'm tone def.?). I'm sure that when I update my speakers the differences will be more apparent, but until then, I will stick to the Yamaha.
