Interesting post of yours. Personally I found exactly the Opposite result. My old oft modded Toshiba simply outclasses the NAD541 I tried a couple of weeks ago. Detail was simply much finer with MY Tosh.
System differences? Possibly, dunno.. but certainly different result.
