A few advantages to registering
1. It partially locks your screen name. People will be able to post with your name, but if you click on the post name, it won't give the correct information.
2. You can get semi-screened email via asylum mail. A registered user can contact you without having to post your email address in the message.
Note: Unlike registering for a Yahoo group, I received zero increase in junk mail levels after registering on the Asylum (and that was at pre-Yahoo junk mail levels.)
3. You can set an option that if someone posts to an older active message, you can get a notice sent to your email account.
4. You get a "message counter" so you know when you've posted your 2000th message.
Play safe and play longer! Don't be an "OUCH!" casualty.
Unplug it, discharge it and measure it (twice) before you touch it.. . .Oh!. . .Remember: Modifying things voids their warranty.
