A VERY SAD NOTE

71.83.234.46

A couple years ago I met Terry Cain, and heard his great speakers. I recently inquired about him of Stephaen, a 6moons Audio Reviewer, and this is the following is the response that I got. I hope to do good, and not ill by copying it here.

"Hi guys,

I'm writing because Terry has finally asked/agreed to allow 6moons and the Asylum to jointly publicize his needs and attempt to raise money for his care. He has a dual diagnosis of ALS and Lyme's. Because he has been unable to work, he sold his business to one of his trusted workers and he and Leslie are now scraping by as there is no consistent income for them.

Terry is now fighting for his life. He currently requires 'round the clock care and wants to prsue a non-traditional treatment for the Lyme's, based on the two years of research he's been doing. Over a six month period, the cost for the treatment alone is expected to exceed $12,000. next week he will be moved to a small group home where there is full-time medical attention available and begin to pursue the aggressive treatment he believes will save his life. Because the treatment is non-traditional, he is not eligible to receive any state or federal assistance.

I'm writing to you because I can't do this by myself and Terry needs our help.
Some quick points and then I'll sign off and hope to hear back from you.

1. 6moons and AA are willing to do what it takes to raise awareness of the need.
2. AA has an established classifieds section which could be used to list items in the auction; I believe we have the means to keep them at the top of the list. I don't know if AuidioGon will partner with us, yet.
3. While I've provided oversight to the 9/11 and Tsunami benefists on AA, I never coordinated any of the "on the gound" auction activities (getting donations, listing the items, mangaging the transactions).
4. Pete Riggle was the first to step up and has already agreed to donate numerous Pete Riggle Engineering and Audio products to the cause.
5. Leslie, and Terry's cousin Kathy, will work on the story, which Srajan and I will then craft into an appeal...I hope to have this available to go live by the end of this week
6. Terry's limited communication abilities (the last time I heard him speak7. Time is of the essence.

So...what insights, insults, comments, question, advice, support, etc can you offer?
I know that ALL of you have various talents, connections, or clout.
And I know that all of you appreciate Terry as a friend and/or contributor to the field.
In short, the best ideas come from the most ideas, and the best results will come from many hands on deck.

Thanks!

Anyway, perhaps I should have asked permission first, and maybe everyone already knows. I just thought this forum was the best place on earth to make this known. Stephaen can be reached at

Sincerely,

Benjamin
