The little beads we have here (in many sizes upto as big as a donut) are mostly inductive, they're used for RF containment / exclusion in data processing equipment. I also have a bunch that I saved from the trash, ferrite part is about the size of a 1/2 W CC resistor, bonded onto a length of solid wire. It may be worth a try, nothing ventured, nothing gained...
