Terry,

The power trafo filament winding in either a stock FP/1 or FP/2 can't support 12BH7s, as they draw 2X the heater current 'U7s draw. Types other than the 'U7 that draw the correct amount of heater current have WAY too much gain. So, the OEM power trafo pretty much locks you in to 12AU7 family tubes.
