I was had however by that overworked store clerk: the speaker is and will be still available as you can read below, a response e-mail from Radio Shack themselves:
The speakers are still available through on-line, telephone order, and your
local RadioShack store. This item is store-stocked and can be purchased
either at your local store, by phone by contacting RadioShack.com at
800-241-8742, or on-line at http://www.radioshack.com/ProductSupport/Frames/
by entering the catalog number in the Cat#: field at the bottom left of the
