Please bear with me, as I am a novice, and I have got a dumb question. Would it be possible to connect a bunch(18-19)of 9V batteries in series to supply (168VDC specified)162VDC-171VDC, instead of using the transformer and rectifier? I was thinking about ordering about 20 9V batteries from Mouser at only $.74 each it could be done for under $15. If it works I would then consider replacing "los cheapos" with some rechargeable ones. I have never tried wiring so many batteries in series to get high voltages, so will I fry them, or myself, and will they be able to reach that high of a voltage? Thanks for any help or suggestions anybody may have.
