Thank you for your candid response. Well, I certainly don't have the space to place the Apollos one full wavelength of the lowest OB frequency away from the front wall (the wall behind the speaker). That would amount to approx. 11 feet. Probably about the best I could do would be equivalent to 1/2 wavelength of the lowest OB frequency away from the wall, which in this case, isn't too far off from 1/3rd of the way into the room.
No one has ever made a perfect loudspeaker, and I don't imagine that is going to change anytime soon, so I definitely concur that the most important point is to listen. Our ears are better for determining loudpseaker quality than any piece of test equipment yet devised by man. I am looking forward to my audition.
