The graph in the area around 3 Khz is very flat, please have a look!
The waterfall is excellent regarding it is a 12" wideband- driver, you can`t compare it with smallband high- specific drivers from multiway- systems, please compare waterfall to same sized or even smaller wideband- drivers and you can see how good Prometheus is in this discipline.
All Bastanis speaker- constructions are based on the fact that it is impossible to construct "the perfect speaker", also Bastanis- speakers measure well even under the aspects of linearity which is not common for wideband- speakers or fullrange- drivers. Speaker- construction is a very complexed theme with many other aspects like phase- behaviour, micro- and macro dynamic- behaviour, avoiding sound- critical interferences and resonances in the midrange, wavefront- behaviour etc...
The Bastanis- speakers are the result of more than 20 years of my own personal and professional search for the "holy grail" in speaker- sound, they have many technical aspects "out of the rules", also you can find some vintage knowledge in the construction, all mixed up in a modern, compact design to satisfy myself when i listen to music, absolutely no marketing- restrictions. Not everybody likes the sound of the Bastanis- speakers, this is ok. but all Bastanis- customers (100%!) i know are satisfied and don`t think about selling their speakers anymore, this is also a main aspect of my own satisfaction. I sell all my constructions under my own name which means that all the Bastanis- products have a soundquality which i could live with for the rest of my life and every single product presents 100% my actual maximum knowledge. In Germany, two years ago when i presented the Prometheus there were two enthusiastic reviews and immediately there was a bunch of internet- forum "heros" who claimed that this speakers can`t sound because of all possible (and impossible) reasons (although they hadn`t listened to the speakers), i think this behaviour is grounded in the dark areas of human nature and all successful products with new aspects in design makes this people become active - so it is also a good indicator for the success - when this people are quiet something is wrong...
