I bought and received a pair of Bill Allen's $200 oak veneer plywood baffles for the Prometheus a while back. Recently, I finally got around to opening the box and checking them out.

I have to say I am surprised by how nice they look, with a smooth grain, straight and even cuts, bubble-free veneer, and attractive round-overs.

They could easily be worked into many decors as-is. Or, if so desired, it looks like the only work necessary to give them a furniture-grade finish is the final round of fine sanding before moving on to stain or oil.

Worth considering for sure, especially if it would take you forever to get around to dragging out the table saw and router yourself, or if you don't own either!
